We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Transportation Analyst who is responsible to work in collaboration with the organization to strategically and tactically develop, align and implement Logistic/Transportation Services to improve the company's bottom line results.

What You'll Do:

This is a Full-Time Salary Position

The Transportation Analyst will be responsible for supporting the efficient and effective flow of products to and from GNC's distribution network to effectively support our domestic store locations, as well as to and from client's distribution network to effectively support our domestic and international customers in all channels of the Transportation Department.

  • Responsible for supporting the operations and analysis of our transportation network to retail stores and customers across all channels as it relates to all modes of shipping (TL, IMDL, LTL, Parcel)

  • Works directly with our carrier base, distribution centers, vendors, and other internal departments for the planning and execution of all shipments

  • Provide analytical support for all TL, IMDL, LTL, & Parcel RFP events

  • Utilizes our transportation specific software solutions (such as our TMS)

  • Assists in claim management (Damages, Shortages, Overages)

  • Partners with other transportation analysts, leaders and other department stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities through critical thinking and strategic analysis

  • Supports the execution of best-in-class logistics/transportation services

  • Develops and maintains relationships with new and existing service providers in order to optimize the supply chain network

  • Supports the organization's overall business plan and expectations of our customers by ensuring the execution of our transportation strategy

  • Participates in project management initiatives to generate cost savings, cost avoidance and/or service improvements to GNC's transportation network

  • Works with managers and other analysts to develop and monitor budget, forecast, and monthly projection expectations to meet the financial expectations of the organization

  • Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping and problem analysis

  • Develops and manages core transportation metrics including KPI performance reporting and holds vendors accountable to expectations and targets with tools such as Scorecards

  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required

  • 2+ years progressive Supply Chain, Transportation, or Logistics experience required

  • Experience with the execution and functionality of a Transportation Management System (TMS)

  • Industry exposure in Truckload, Less-than-Truckload, Parcel and Inter-modal operations

  • Ability to demonstrate fluency in logistics analysis (KPI, Metric Reporting, Scorecards)

  • Knowledge of budgeting and P&L analysis as it relates to Transportation

  • High skill sets with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) and Internet applications

  • Experience using warehouse, transportation platforms, financial/inventory management systems.

  • High degree of proficiency SQL and Business Intelligence (BI) tools

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)

  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients

  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management

  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

Additional Information

Environmental Factors & Working Schedule:

  • Hybrid work environment, 2 days in-person attendance (Pittsburgh, PA) in addition to ability to work remotely.

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion.   • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include long periods of computer screen usage, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate
