Senior Research Technician

The Senior Research technician will be responsible for Independently performing a variety of complex laboratory experiments. They will analyze and interprets results, create figures and text to support manuscript and grant writing. The senior tech will also support ordering and lab organization.

Job Duties Include:

  • Performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments, including determining experimental protocols and preparing laboratory specimens and cultures. Provides research experiment design expertise.

  • Analyzes experimental data and interprets results; compiles results; writes reports and summaries of findings.

  • Keeps detailed, accurate, and timely data and log books.

  • Prepares data, graphs, tables, and charts to document experimental results for publication.

  • Performs literature searches; summarizes findings for reports and written documentations.

  • Develops expert recommendations and problem resolutions to improve research efforts.

  • Serves as Safety Officer as directed and/or needed.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments. Analyzes and interprets data, compiles results, and prepares reports. Maintains inventory, ordering, and logs. Writes manuscripts and grant proposals and prepares data visualizations.

Essential Functions

Candidate must be able to follow prescribed procedures with advanced problem solving as needed.

Physical Effort

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
