Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives

 

The Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives, reporting to the Vice Chancellor and Chief Strategy Officer, serves as trusted advisor and University partner on high-priority programs, initiatives, special projects and communications. This position:

  • Advises, influences and helps drive the implementation of Plan for Pitt 2028, including, but not limited to, programs, initiatives, special projects and communications.
  • Provides leadership in identifying institutional priorities and advancing new initiatives.
  • Supports short- and long-term institutional planning.
  • Responsible for partnering with all University leadership and University stakeholders to propel strategic planning, initiatives, advisory services, and partnership.
  • Manages simultaneous responsibilities for the senior leader to enable them to respond adeptly to changing priorities.
  • Supports executive communications for unit.
  • Possess exceptional analytical, administrative and financial skills and the capacity to be nimble, entrepreneurial and able to adjust to changing environments.
  • Supports the Vice Chancellor and other senior leadership on an as-needed basis for when various matters arise. Job Summary

Leads team and directs the development and implementation of change management strategies. Identifies stakeholders that offer strategic change opportunities. Designs new processes, operating models, and training sessions and coordinates the implementation of operating procedures and processes. Ensures objectives are communicated and achieved. Analyzes data to make recommendations, improvements, and training programs.

Duties are primarily sedentary. Must be able to use a computer at a desk or similar workstation, and travel to on-campus meetings as needed.
