Research Technician
The Sorrells Lab investigates neuron development. The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of general duties associated with supporting a research lab: preparing lab solutions, maintaining some equipment, assisting with mouse colony maintenance, perfusions, histology, microscopy, and providing support to lab personnel as needed.
Job Summary
Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.
Essential Functions
Ability to conduct histology and animal husbandry are essential functions for the position and this position was created for the purpose of performing these duties.
Physical Effort
Ability to manipulate tissue sections with fine motor skills is necessary daily, and ability to walk to and manipulate animal housing and animals is necessary daily. Ability to lift 10 lbs.
