Day to day as a Remote Customer Service Representative (Advocate)

As a Customer Service Representative (Advocate) at Disabled Veteran Solutions, you will play a vital role in assisting our members with various aspects of their health care needs. Using your empathetic nature and expertise in navigating multiple web-based platforms, you will actively listen to customers, including policyholders, agents, claimants, and employees, to understand their concerns, provide clarity, and offer effective solutions. With a focus on customer-centricity, you will support 50-70 individuals daily with inquiries related to their primary care physicians, medications, transportation to appointments, and other benefit-related questions.

Your ability to empathize and your proficiency in utilizing web-based systems will significantly contribute to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve. Employment is subject to successful completion of necessary background checks.

What we're looking for in a Remote Customer Service Representative (Advocate)

To excel as a Customer Service Representative (Advocate) at Disabled Veteran Solutions, candidates should possess a High School Diploma and a minimum of one year of experience in insurance operations. Proficiency in computer usage is essential, along with the ability to adhere to department hours, including scheduled breaks. Ideal candidates will have a background in healthcare/insurance, demonstrating familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, and benefit plan design.

Experience in areas such as social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, and health promotion is beneficial for working with vulnerable populations and researching available resources. Additionally, prior experience in full-service customer service roles involving complex problem-solving will be advantageous in this position.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
