Job Description Responsible for machine operation and crews in a light industrial setting. Must manage machine teams to ensure proper and safe operation of assigned equipment. Responsible for quality, output, and meeting production goals. Additionally, fulfills the job duties of a Production Technician 1,2 and 3 as required. KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Production: Monitors performance of machines and personnel. Provides feedback to personnel. Ensures that goals are being met, crews have tools and resources needed and issues are communicated to Supervisor. Ensures that the processes are being followed for production and material handling. Applies advanced troubleshooting skills and performs basic maintenance on assigned machines that improve quality and performance. Assists crew members when needed. Crew Leadership/Training: Organizes crew activities and delegates assignments. Trains and develops all crew members. Quality and Waste: Monitors product quality for correctness and report when errors occur. Monitors print and bundle quality. Makes adjustments as necessary to correct quality issues. Monitors product waste and takes steps to reduce or eliminate spoilage and doubles. Communication/Record Keeping/Safety: Maintains accurate record keeping IE: safety audits, packages per hour, labor hours per thousand and other logs or forms. Communicates personnel issues to the Supervisor. Informs other Operators/Supervisors of pertinent information and communicates to other shifts as necessary. Monitors and promotes a safe and clean workplace. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED EXPERIENCE 1+year(s) related experience KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Ability to multi-task Ability to assess obstacles and make minor non-mechanical adjustments to ensure safety and maintenance procedures are followed Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language. (Preferred) Basic math skills Attention to detail Team player (works well with others). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (varying upon equipment). EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE UTILIZED: Pallet jack COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS Communicate with team members. Share equipment knowledge with team members. DECISION MAKING Assist with work prioritization to meet production commitments and goals. OTHER Ability to work overtime beyond regular schedule to complete work assignments as required. Additional Information The hourly pay for this role is $20.40 plus $1.25 shift differential. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
