University of Pittsburgh Part-time Instructor - Jazz Piano in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The University of Pittsburgh Department of Music seeks a part-time instructor to give private jazz piano lessons. Instructors must demonstrate an ability to work with students at various skill levels.
The instructor should introduce students to various jazz styles and improve their knowledge of piano voicings and their abilities in soloing and comping for small combos and big bands. The instructor will also assist students with preparation for public performances and juries.
Private lessons are credit-generating and fulfill music major/minor requirements and general education requirements.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree in jazz piano performance or equivalent professional experience; previous teaching experience.
