Olympic Sports Science Fellow

 

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking applicants for a Sports Science Fellow that will work within the high-performance environment of the University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department. The role will serve several Olympic sports programs and directly reports to the Pitt Director of Sports Science.

Responsibilities: Collect analyze and disseminate Diamond Kinetics, Yakkertech and other relevant baseball performance data Prepare daily, weekly and year-end reports for members of the baseball high performance teams Perform literature reviews, validate sports science testing procedures and assist with the writing and publishing of scientific manuscripts Assist with the maintenance of an athlete management system Assist with training and managing of Master's-level sports science students Assist with the maintenance and organization of sports science equipment Minimum Experience: Bachelor's degree in sports science, data science, statistics or a related degree Familiarity with collegiate sport and common sports science technology Understanding of trends in the fields of sport, data analytics and sports science Innovative and creative approach to work and problem solving Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent ability to provide oral and written reports Preferred Experience: Master's degree in sports science, data science, statistics or a related degree CSCS or CPSS certification Prior experience with sports science technology and analysis Practical and theoretical experience with sports Use of Smartabase and/or other Athlete Management and Data Visualization software Additional Expectations: Must be flexible to adapt to schedules inherent to collegiate sports, including but not limited to: practice and games on weekends and holidays, often outside of common business hours; potential travel for away games Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all members of a high-performance team
