Laboratory Research Technician II Job Summary

 

Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.

 

Essential Functions

The primary responsibilities of the Research Technician will be to assist in histological analysis of mouse tissues, microscopy, and other biochemical assays (Western Blotting, Elisa, PCR). The candidate will help maintain transgenic mouse colony; perform all needed animal husbandry tasks and genotyping. The incumbent will also assist processing and handling of samples associated with different studies, including sample entry into a central database. The candidate will also be expected to assist with database entry and data management, as well as daily lab operations.

Physical Effort

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
