Job Summary

The Human Resources Specialist will report to the Faculty Affairs Manager and will be responsible for supporting faculty, staff, and student human resources and payroll related activities for the Pitt Business School at the University of Pittsburgh. This includes recruiting, compensation, position management, employee relations, and performance management. The Human Resources Specialist will assist in the execution of all processes related to faculty, staff, & student workforce planning and management. The incumbent will be responsible for the process of hiring and terminating employees overseeing job postings, interviews, etc., position management job description management and updates, and temporary faculty, staff, and student workers. The incumbent will provide insight and guidance to the HR Team as it pertains to vacancies, new positions, updating current positions, and all other necessary daily functions.

Position Details

The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for oversight of faculty/staff/student management processes. This includes implementation and coordination of orientation, on-boarding, and training for all new employees. In addition, the incumbent will assist in the performance management process and entry of human resources actions into the PittWorx system. The Human Resources Specialist may provide coaching advice to management to assist with performance or behavioral-related issues and may confer on sensitive matters and assist in problem resolution. The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for assisting in all general human resources functions including but not limited to managing and communicating policies and procedures, initiating and coordinating HR actions leaves of absence, employee relations actions, etc., acting as liaison for HR systems, and maintaining all files. As well, the incumbent is responsible for all payroll actions for all employees faculty, staff, GSA, student, and temporary. This includes reviewing registers, processing payments and salary modifications, and acting as liaison to the payroll department.

Job Summary

Assists in the coordination of a broad range of human resources programs and in the management of the staffing and interview process. Coordinates trainings and processes payroll and human resources transactions.
