University of Pittsburgh Faculty.Professor.Assistant - Full-Time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is recruiting an Assistant Professor, in the Non-Tenure, Appointment stream.
This position includes participation in the development of programs and services to serve the needs of pediatric neurosurgical patients as deemed medically appropriate, assisting with the interdisciplinary development of continuing medical education for the medical staff. You will contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the specialty of enabling surgical technologies through basic and/or applied research investigation either independently or in conjunction with other investigators. This position will also participate and provide leadership in the teaching component of house staff and fellow training programs for Neurological Surgery postgraduate trainees.
This academic appointment will be at the Assistant Professor, Non-Tenure track level and is commensurate with prior academic achievements and experience. Salary is competitive and commensurate with training and experience. General rank requirements: Applicants for Assistant Professor, non-tenure stream, should have one or more years of experience in related scientific research; demonstrate the ability to obtain external research funding; have disseminated results through peer-reviewed publications and other scientific forums; have relevant teaching experience, and demonstrate the capacity for career development and promotion.
Minimum education and requirements to be considered:
M.D - Board eligible or certified in Neurosurgery
Licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Success in authoring papers published in refereed journals.
