University of Pittsburgh FACULTY POSITION IN BIOCHEMISTRY OR BIOPHYSICS in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a faculty position in the broad areas of Biochemistry or Biophysics, pending budgetary approval; the position is anticipated at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level with an anticipated start date of 15 August 2025. We seek an outstanding scientist who will enhance and complement existing strengths in our broad-based, interactive biology department. Candidates working in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply:

Application of cutting-edge techniques in biochemistry/biophysics to answer questions in modern biology

Development of tools to probe mechanisms underlying phase transitions, enzyme function, macromolecular machines, protein-nucleic acid complexes, protein-protein interactions, protein architecture, membrane protein dynamics, cellular signaling and organization, and/or microbiology

Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field and will be expected to establish an extramurally funded research program, train graduate students, and actively participate in undergraduate science education.
