Director of Event Management and Camps

 

Manages Athletic Department competitions, games, camps and events in athletic facilities. Directs event and camp logistics, oversees student workers and supports large events through coordinating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. Executes promotion of sport camps as well as processes and procedures for sport camps. Athletic event management ensures that quality control measures are met for all events including collaboration with Public Safety, Parking, Facilities Management, and all areas in the Athletic Department including Marketing, Development, Ticketing, Media Relations etc.

Job Summary

Plans, organizes, and executes athletic events. Manages event logistics, oversees student workers and supports event operations through coordinating and communicating with internal and external contacts. Manages core event functions and supports the execution of athletics events, including but not limited to, varsity athletics competitions, sports camps, external competitions, and others as assigned.

Essential Functions

Manages all aspects of events for assigned sports including crowd control, parking and credentials. Conducts regular game operations meetings for each. Assists in planning and execution of all ACC and NCAA Championship events. Coordinates with facilities management to ensure competition venues are prepared. Executes marketing, advertising and promotion of sports camps. Coordinates communication between coaches, staff and camp attendees. Assists with set up, tear down, registration, inventory, scheduling and web site operations for camps. Evaluates effectiveness of sport camps and event management processes.

Physical Effort

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. May need to lift equipment, mail, or supplies up to 50 pounds.
