The Asset Management Data Analytics Specialist will archive, mine, and manage asset data to take accountability of developing regulatory and best practice reporting on various types of utility assets, and to develop accurate and precise asset health analytics.
The position may be solely accountable for the quality of data sets and report generation accuracy including being aware of the compliance aspects of asset data. This will require deciding if the data provided for the asset is entered correctly and attributes are developed and applied properly. The position is expected to follow-up with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, report accuracy, and that final products meet end user needs.

Responsibilities: Coordinate with subject matter experts and asset owners to establish critical asset lists for various pieces of substation, overhead, underground, and telecommunication equipment to coordinate with regulatory and best practice goals and objectives. Develop process controls that provide consistent asset data input through process and data governance, including standardization of asset data and processes governing data to ensure all asset owners and subject matter experts input data consistently. Implement and maintain process controls from initial development, through implementation, up to and including training of individual contributors, to ensure effective asset life-cycle management with proper tracking and documentation. Under the advisement of subject matter experts and asset owners, develop a rubric for reporting out on regulatory and best practice goals and objectives. Utilize and program integration of various systems (e.g., Maximo, PowerBase, SharePoint) to leverage data, and provide recommendation for direction on best reporting practices and best data analytics choices. Establish, implement, and manage a root cause analysis process. Communicate lessons learned with various stakeholders. Trend, and analyze corrective maintenance work order ownership tracking. Support compliance and performance initiatives by developing, monitoring, and review asset performance trends, specific and measurable key point indicators for tracking, and reports. Establish benchmarks and key point indicators for tracking, by completing benchmarking studies for DLC assets and related subsystems. Perform data analysis to improve asset and system network reliability, improve performance, and reduce costs. Query, report, data mine, integrate, and analyze assets, operating databases, work management databases, and other data sources. Identify equipment testing data organize and trend for health, and work practice trends, issues, and risks. Develop efficient, flexible reports to better serve all Operations departments and crafts. Employ modern browser-capable technologies that efficiently run on lower performance wireless connections outside of the office environment. Use data tools to ensure data quality and reporting accuracy. Develop procedures and processes & customize applications experience with PowerBI, Python, SQL/Oracle, R, Crystal Reports, ASP or JSP, Maximo, WAM, VueJS, or similar enterprise ass t and work management systems. Perform statistic & economic analysis. Identify gaps in technology or skill sets and recommend appropriate course of action. Integrate, synchronize and purify various databases and systems to ensure compliance. Provide data analytic guidance, technical guidance, and support to other technical staff to help fulfill group goals and objectives. Consults with more experienced peers and vendors to become thoroughly familiar with an assignment and to obtain necessary design information to provide recommendations. Provides assistance, technical support, and training for less experienced peers during normal and emergency conditions. Reviews and keeps informed of codes, coding practices, regulations, and standards, and safety practices affecting company resources. Develop, update, organize, and maintain reporting and data analytic standards, specifications, and procedures. Storm role as appropriate to their role and skillset.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar degree required. If Electrical Engineering, ABET accreditation required. Seven (7) years of progressive and relevant experience in utilities, asset management, maintenance management, database administration, integration, and report development required. Valid driver's license required. Advanced degrees and/or certifications in relevant field(s) preferred.
