CNUP Assistant Job Summary

Performs various administrative and student services duties in support of a school. Facilitates human resources recruiting support for faculty, staff, and students; student registration; coordination of teaching schedules; and other related faculty and student services.

Essential Functions

The Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP) is a multidisciplinary center with members whose primary appointments are in 19 different departments across campus. The CNUP Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for the center's graduate and undergraduate training programs. This will include managing graduate student records, preparing for the annual evaluation, scheduling and announcing meetings, maintaining the CNUP website and assisting with recruiting. He or she will also be responsible for all aspects of the summer undergraduate research program. In addition, the CNUP Assistant will organize and coordinate the Center's outreach and advocacy programs and the annual regional Brain Bee, and act as back-up to other administrative staff.

Physical Effort

Although primarily sedentary, person must be able to walk about campus to make deliveries, especially between the Biomedical Science Towers and Langley Hall. Must also be able to lift and carry files possibly up to 25 pounds.
