Business Analyst (Remote or Hybrid)

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Business Analyst for the university-wide electronic research management platform, PERIS Solution. The Business Analyst will participate in the analysis, design, configuration, implementation, and support of new and existing enterprise-wide electronic research management modules and features for the PERIS Solution. The incumbent will act in the capacity to manage and complete multiple tasks and participate in cross-functional teams to analyze both business processes and functional capabilities of operational and compliance systems related to research and to properly design and/or configure vendor software to meet University research objectives, strategic plans, and business requirements.

The Business Analyst also serves in a professional capacity to gather requirements, perform analysis, documentation, and communication of said requirements with the users. This position serves as a critical link between IT team members and key individuals involved with the project. Ability to work independently or on teams, interact with stakeholders to collect requirements, and verify analysis and design as necessary. Must be able to prioritize assignments and tasks and meet deadlines.

Excellent organizational skills to ensure complete and navigable project documentation is required. Must be able to manage in a complex technical and administrative environment and communicate with users, developers, and systems analysts. Must be able to articulate and carry out objectives and procedures and to recommend necessary changes and to design and execute basic software changes and enhancements.

Job Summary

Works with business groups to solve moderately complex problems using technology. Analyzes complex business needs and evaluates routine business processes to recommend process enhancements. Assists in helping more senior business analysts with more complex projects.

Essential Functions

Extensive use of computers, databases, Microsoft Office Suite, and research operation and compliance software solutions. Analysis of data in all forms is necessary.

The position is primarily sedentary.
