UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Business Analyst to support MATRIX!

This position will work Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm. This role will work remotely with occasional in-person meetings. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

MATRIX is a 5-year $125 million USAID supported cooperative agreement led by MWRI to develop safe and effective HIV prevention and Dual-Purpose Products (HIV protection and contraceptive) that are acceptable, affordable, scalable, and deliverable through benchmark-driven portfolio management. MATRIX brings together organizations engaged with early-stage research and development (R&D) in novel HIV prevention products, investigators, and partners from the United States (US), Kenya, South Africa (SA), and Zimbabwe, with experts in socio- behavioral research (SBR) and market and business case development.

This position is grant funded.

Magee-Womens Research Institute is looking for a full time Business Analyst. This is a federal USAID-funded position supporting a large international research project aimed at developing safe and effective HIV prevention. The candidate will support the fiscal director in management and analysis of the award, budgets, and expenses. The candidate will perform analysis of data and information for various project expenses and take a leadership role in the enhancement, development, documentation, and communication of identified variances.

Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly expenses versus budget for prime budget and multiple partner subawards, review variances, and analyze for trends.

  • Perform statistical analyses, and then explain this analysis to a non-technical audience of both internal and external customers and, at times, senior management.

  • Ability to communicate with numerous international partners via email and online meetings regarding analyses.

  • Determine best practices for budgeting in upcoming years by drilling down into specific activities.

  • Meet deadlines and turnaround times set by managers and department director.

· Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, health care, management, or related business field required. Master's degree preferred. Extensive related experience will be considered.

· Minimum of two years of related work experience in financial and or medical analysis required. Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred.

· Strong computer skills, with expert knowledge in Access, Excel, and other financial & statistical software packages.
