PPG Industries, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, has a work-at-home BI Developer position (with the ability to telecommute with appropriate telecommuting systems; the remote worksite must be within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA for bi-weekly trips to the corporate office) responsible for designing and building scalable data models, cleaning and digitally transforming data, and enabling sophisticated analytic capabilities in Power BI. Specific duties include: (i) developing Power BI dashboards using SSAS, AAS, and Google Analytics (GA) models; (ii) writing SQL queries that include aggregation; (iii) translating reporting needs into technical specifications, calculations, custom groups, parameters, filtering criteria, and aggregations, and strive to optimize model performances; and (iv) building data models, custom measures, and dimensions using DAX operating on cached datasets and analysis services.
Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in a computer-related or engineering-related field plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.
Experience must include: (i) five (5) years with Microsoft Data Stack (including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS); (ii) four (4) years with Microsoft Power BI; (iii) four (4) years with SQL, MDX, or DAX data query languages; (iv) two (2) years with Azure Analysis services; and (v) one (1) year with Azure Data Factory.
