Carnegie Mellon University Assistant Business Manager - Civil and Environmental Engineering in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Carnegie Mellon University is searching for an Assistant Business Manager join the Civil and Environmental Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunityfor someone whothrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. In this role, you will support the operations of a small to medium sized academic department, primarily in the areas of human resources and finance.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Providing day-to-day oversight of assigned administrative/operations functions within the unit, and supporting roll-out of university wide programs as they impact the unit(s).

Providing business analysis and reporting for projects and initiatives, as well as guidance and consultation regarding compliance, policies, and procedures.

Performing accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements.

Collecting, compiling, verifying, and analyzing financial data so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making decisions.

Other duties as assigned.

You should demonstrate:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong analytical skills

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business administration required

3-5 years of accounting experience
