Admissions Counselor - Road Warrior

This position is responsible for the recruitment of prospective students to the University of Pittsburgh. This is done within and outside of the office as the Admissions Counselor (Road Warrior) will be an integral part of the enrollment process by supporting the office's territory managers. The Admissions Counselor (Road Warrior) role is primarily to represent the University and to disperse information about admissions, financial aid, and academic opportunities to students, families and guidance/college counselors.

This position is responsible for representing the entire university to prospective students, families, and high school guidance counselors. The performance of this position has a direct impact on the new student enrollment levels and, thus, the financial well-being of the university. When this position is performed well, new student enrollment, tuition revenue, and the overall image of the university are enhanced.

Because this position represents the entire university to many prospective students and families and high school guidance counselors, it is critical that the candidates have a thorough understanding of university policies and procedures, and that accurate information is given. Errors or poor judgment by someone in this position could adversely affect new student enrollment and damage the university's image.

The incumbent will be responsible for recruitment travel (including high school visits and college fairs), territory management, contact with guidance counselors, student engagement, and support as needed to the 20+ OAFA territory managers, which could include support in student/parent communication when in the office, or supplementing travel on the road.

This position will require the incumbent to coordinate and attend visits to selected high schools and college fairs, as assigned by the territory managers or by self-territory oversight, and to complete any corresponding efforts related to prospect generation, and application management. They will evaluate the visits, record findings, and provide feedback regarding results to the corresponding territory manager.

While most of the position will be completed external to OAFA, the Admissions Counselor (Road Warrior) may be asked complete other tasks related to the recruitment cycle and territory management, as needed and available. These tasks could include supporting and assisting in the coordination of Instant Decision Days, Out of State Recruitment Receptions, Regional Events, Application completion campaigns, and integrating territory management functions into the Salesforce CRM.

A university vehicle or university provided rental will be provided.

Bachelor's degree (required), 1-2 years' experience (desired), Pitt alum (preferred)

The selected candidate must be very responsible, able to plan and conduct several consecutive weeks of independent travel and possess a strong attention to detail. Flexibility is a must as travel assignments may change often and could be last minute. Travel expenses (including hotels, transportation, etc.) will be covered by OAFA following the submission of expense reports and the candidate will receive per diem for food (candidate must have a credit card or means to purchase food and be reimbursed)
