Job Summary

Manage the development of the SCI academic schedule by collaborating with departments, academic records, academic advising and data team. Provide operational guidance, and data analyses in the development of the academic schedule of classes. Responsible for following best practices for scheduling and adhering to Pitt's scheduling guidelines. Serve as the subject matter expert on scheduling systems, tools, and technology and ensure that course schedule meets students academic needs and end users are utilizing those systems, tools and technology effectively and efficiently. Create the development of the academic schedule through conducting data analysis and manage all processes around the academic schedule.

Additional Essential Duties: * Complete reports as requested. * Monitor and manage max enrollment exceptions, make rates, and missing room assignments. * Collaborate with Pitt IT and Office of the Registrar for improvements in accuracy, effectiveness, and usefulness of the university's scheduling management system. * Hands on use with People Soft and appropriate School resources to ensure that each term schedule is accurately entered into University systems in a timely fashion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience working in Higher Education with expertise in academic scheduling and degree planning/mapping.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience building collaborative relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning ERP systems and People Soft Job Summary

Evaluates business requirements and performs moderately advanced data integration and analysis. Develops moderately advanced analytical and reporting tools utilizing integrated data. Provides technical support.

Essential Functions * Develop and provide operational guidance of the academic schedule based on historical data, predictive analytics, and enrollment trends. * Manage and collaborate with the academic departments within SCI in the creation of the academic schedule for credit courses. * Collaborate with the Academic Records, Academic Advising and the Data Team in managing schedule and degree maps at both the undergraduate and graduate level. * Analyze and evaluate degree and pathway completion velocity, collaborating with the academic departments within SCI to determine efficient degrees and pathways for students in order to increase retention and completion. * Serve as a contact, service provider, and subject matter expert to academic departments and end users of scheduling software and reports. * Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information from scheduling software to provide data on efficiency and space utilization. * Interpret historical, current, and project data to identify operational inefficiencies and identify areas where procedural or system changes are warranted. * Communicate these areas of improvement to appropriate stakeholders/administrators. * Responsible for following best practices for scheduling and adhering to Pitt's scheduling guidelines. * Develop training materials and conduct trainings on the scheduling software for end users. * Produce reports with predictive analytics for use by department chairs, deans, faculty, and administration. Physical Effort

Moderate physical effort required. May be required to stand/move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.
