Bell Piney Flats Quality Team
As a member of the Bell Piney Flats Quality department, this position will determine the course of work for aircraft through reviewing and analyzing aircraft configurations and identifying certification paths. This role will be trained to be a member of the Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) to assist with Maintenance, Repair and Alteration (MRA) projects. This role is an integral part of the team, therefore, working closely with other departments, bringing personal experience and technical skill sets to the Bell Piney Flats Quality team.
What you'll be doing as Aircraft Certification Records Specialist
Review and analyze aircraft configurations and identify all certification paths to determine course of work on aircraft.
Certification plans will be documented for communication with other team members.
Aid in preparation of aircraft logbook entries for approving aircraft to return to service.
Prepare / complete FAA Form 337s for major alterations on completed aircraft.
Identify the regulations that must be addressed by 8110-3s and request this approved data.
Evaluate the aircraft weight and balance to ensure that the aircraft can be properly controlled.
Ensure accuracy of the information referenced by the pilot. Prepare aircraft weight and balance documents.
Explain aircraft weight and balance situations with team members or customers.
Hold certification meetings to address all issues and concerns and communicate certification path to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
Assist with mentoring and development of earlier skill level team members.
Interact with internal personnel and external vendors/customers in a positive and professional manner.
And perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications
What you need to be successful
High School Diploma or GED.
FAA Airframe Certificate Required.
6 years hands-on inspection and/or extensive installation experience on aircraft avionics systems working with certification paths.
Familiarity with FARS, Part 145 repair station procedures, FAA Forms 337, and aircraft logbook entries.
Familiarity with aviation inspection methods, techniques, and practices used to determine aircraft airworthiness where maintenance or alterations have been performed.
Skills
Ability to ensure that inspection records, reports and forms that are required by the repair station/FAR are properly executed prior to return to service and the aircraft being released to the public.
Ability to provide subject matter expertise to team members on avionics issues, to include directing/advising and recommending actions.Excellent communication skills.
Ability to form and maintain effective relationships with supervisors, customers, internal and external suppliers.
Preferred:
FAA A&P Certificate
Additional experience related to job duties
Inspection Authorization
ODA or MRA training
Experience on Bell helicopters, preferably with maintenance and avionics background
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.
Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders, work stands, stand for extended periods and entire work shift.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues.
Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
