The Enterprise Security Analyst II is an experienced level professional with working knowledge of and experience with enterprise and cyber security principles, practices, concepts, and theories. Responsible for implementing security measures to protect computer systems, data and networks. This to include the firewalls configurations, network configurations, and switch configurations for secured networks. SDWAN technology and overall network fundamentals are used to design and implement networks based on best practices and industry standards. Responsible for the management of network devices withing DMZ, OT, and Plant networks within the environment. Additional responsibilities include testing, documenting, evaluating and remediating internal controls for the Cleco IT department for safety, effectiveness, and operational efficiency. The position requires collaboration with internal and external audit and examining teams, IT management, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance deliverables are met. Conduct assignments, involving strategic projects or work on complex projects by applying new and unique approaches. Work is varied with high complexity, and precedent. Responsible for leading the completion of assigned processes or activities, requiring interpretation of enterprise security and networking practices. Contributes to identifying improvements to enterprise security activities and procedures. Assists in the development and onboarding of entry-level employees with security and networking practices through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of network strategies in the interest of meeting Business and departmental goals and strategy.

  • Provides technical execution of defined activities to support the delivery of IT initiatives required to achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation objectives.

  • Maintain current network security device configurations and plan upgrades for these devices. Using network management platforms analyze possible issues and configuration recommendations based on industry standards and best practices.

  • Troubleshooting simple to highly complex network access and security issues related to end users including, but not limited to Routing, VPN, and Firewall access.

  • Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires review of relevant factors.

  • Implement, monitor, and manage advanced security technologies and other security related devices using log files, dashboards and other appropriate data sources to provide periodic management reporting and input to the improvement process

  • Works with security vendor to head up Cleco’s IT security program to ensure the security initiatives limit Cleco’s vulnerabilities

  • Ensuring the accurate depiction and documentation of network security topology

  • Assist with maintaining the disaster recovery plan; assist in the company’s business continuity testing as part of the Network Security team.

  • Monitor the organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs. Perform comprehensive root cause analysis and present those findings.

  • Development and maintenance of the security standards and best practices for Cleco

  • Develop and sustain standard operating procedures for recovering from an attack

  • Maintain a working knowledge of network routing, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, internet filtering, anti-virus technology, application security, secure email gateways, and federal compliant environments

  • Lead projects or project teams within broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.

Qualifications

Required Education, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3-5+ years of related experience

  • Strong knowledge of leading cyber security practices

  • Strong planning and project management skills

  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner

  • Strong customer focus and employee experience mindset

Licenses and Certifications

  • Professional security certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, NSE4+, Cisco Certs preferred
