Bluepeak D&E Process Optimization Engineer in Pierre, South Dakota

Overview of the Position Responsibilities: Our Design and Engineering Strategist will be responsible for the optimization, creation, and strategic development of our new markets and design and engineering processes. This is inclusive of translating Bluepeak's network and operations management strategy into seamless execution, designing procedures and work on process flow, logistics and timelines to support all Bluepeak markets. What You Will Do:

  • Design, optimize and engineer new and existing and/or new market design to fit appropriate LRP market profiles.

  • Work with various teams in the selection of new markets.

  • Analyze implications of changes from the original schedule and identify required corrective actions to ensure the expansion market delivery schedule stays on track.

  • Own the operations management process from end-to-end.

  • Facilitate cross management teams to ensure optimum synchronization to the end users and business processes.

  • Apply process improvement methodologies to map existing processes and dependencies, identify critical paths and milestones, and implement process improvements to integrate stakeholders and streamline the expansion market delivery process.

  • Ensure data integrity and identify process or metric improvement opportunities.

  • Identify process limitations and collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to identify and implement time and/or cost­ efficiency improvements.

  • Ensure accurate reporting and forecasting of project timelines, resources, and capital; Accountable for communicating the markets' status to the key stakeholders. Daily and weekly reporting on project milestones and updates.

  • Create database procedures/implement the network capacity planning system for our market networks.

  • Manage a cross-functional team including third party vendors and other resources; coordinates activities to achieve goals.

  • Address problems through risk management and contingency planning and presents solutions and/or options to executive management.

  • Ability to travel as necessary to assigned locations.

  • All other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field and 7+ years of experience with OSP fiber engineering and/or construction and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4+ years experience in the OSP telecommunications/fiber optic industry preferred.

  • Understanding of OSP Network Planning and FTTx Architecture

  • Expertise in Design Tools and/or AutoCAD.

  • Understanding of permit requirements and application process for aerial and underground permitting.

  • Experience with budget tracking, cost estimation, and cost accounting of capital plans required.

  • MS Office Suite: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.

  • Experience with reporting, creating tables, process flow charts, high level analytics.

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

  • Adept at identifying potential project roadblocks and developing mitigation strategies.

  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

  • Effective time management with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet

  • deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism. Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test prior to starting employment.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle report check.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.

  • Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull and walk.

  • Required to use hands, handle objects and paperwork.

  • Required to use close vision and be able to focus.

  • Required to refrain from personal use of technology during working hours.

  • Required to lift up to15Ibs at a given time.
