Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the electrical design, programming, and implementation of control systems for industrial processes and machinery. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our control systems.
Job Duties:
Review of quote, budget, and conceptual design for adherence to customer specifications
Develop and design control systems architecture for industrial processes and machinery
Configure, program, and commission PLCs, HMIs, industrial robots, and peripheral devices
Lead kickoff meetings, design reviews, FATs, and project status meetings
Create detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and user manuals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and manufacturing to ensure successful project delivery
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure seamless progress
Develop and execute test plans to validate robust functionality of control systems
Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in control systems and automation
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of existing control systems
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in electrical or Control Systems Engineering required
6 years of experience in controls engineering with a focus on industrial automation
Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming, with experience in industry-standard platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) required
AutoCAD electrical design required
Strong understanding of control system design principles and industrial communication protocols required
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills required
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in industrial automation required
Advanced knowledge of electrical codes required
Ability to travel domestically up to 50% required
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required
Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required
Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four-plus hours at a time required
Alignment with company core values required
Preferred Qualifications
EPLAN experience preferred
Fanuc, ABB, Kuka programming preferred
