CACI is seeking an intermediate level Mechanical Engineer to provide technical support to the U.S. Navy located at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey. As an integral part of our highly experienced and capable team, you will be supporting the vital role of our customers to ensure Navy weapon systems supportability, capability, and readiness.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Provide intermediate level mechanical engineering support to the Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation Division of the Systems Integration Branch.

  • Develop new concepts and design for Ordnance Handling Equipment (OHE), Reusable Ordnance Containers, other test fixtures, support equipment, and machines.

  • Support an engineering team in concept development, technical analysis, design, and integration specifically related to gears, drive trains, and other mechanical mechanisms powered by electro-mechanical motors, by pneumatics, and by hand.

  • Work on engineering projects that directly enhance the capabilities of our nation’s warfighters.

  • Support development of modifications and upgrades to improve capabilities, reliability, supportability, and safety of existing devices such as winches, gearboxes, chain falls, lifting fixtures, and other material handling equipment.

  • Review, develop, and update engineering design documentation, including engineering drawings and models.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Active Secret Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.

  • 10 years+ experience in performing mechanical engineering tasking similar to the work described above, specifically for design and development of mechanical devices.

  • Knowledge and experience related to AutoCAD or CREO, computer aided design tools for use in development of engineering models and drawings.

  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.

  • Demonstrated expertise in material selection, shop procedures, and manufacturing processes.

  • Knowledge and experience in conducting finite element analysis.

  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.

  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge, capability, and experience in the use of CREO Parametric 3D modeling and engineering drawing development software, or similar products (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, etc.).

  • Engineering experience directly related to U.S. Navy or other DOD handling equipment, fixturing, and test equipment.

  • Knowledge of DOD requirements, standards, and processes.

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$94,400 - $198,300
