Job Title: Water Treatment Plant Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. In this role, you will perform and document various tests and analyses as required by Operations, State, Federal, and Local agencies. You will work independently and be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plant equipment. You will also be on call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the pretreatment plant and pump stations.

requires water treatment grade 1 or 2 certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document various tests and analysis as required by Operations, State, Federal, and Local agencies.

  • Work independently of direct supervision.

  • Have a working knowledge of the operations and laboratory methods and procedures of a pretreatment plant.

  • Recognize, diagnose, and correct equipment malfunctions.

  • Learn basic knowledge of State, Federal, and Local agencies regulations, in conjunction with OSHA safety regulations.

  • Respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the pretreatment plant and pump stations.

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and unscheduled maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.

  • Assist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repair of all plant equipment.

  • Pass NMED Wastewater certification levels in a reasonable time.

  • Support a 24/7 operation by being available to work weekends and holidays.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Level I certification (NMED preferred)

  • Willingness to work nights, holidays, and weekends

  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

  • Ability to climb stairs, vertical ladders, and inclined ladders

  • Ability to work with arms fully extended in front of body and above head

  • Ability to squat, kneel, crawl, lie on back and stomach

  • Ability to work in environments with varying degrees of temperature

  • Ability to work around chemical fumes, in tight spaces, and around sharp edges

  • Ability to work with hammering and impact tools

  • Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals and wear personal protective equipment such as respirators

This package is provided after working on-site for at least 4 weeks, with a commitment of 2 years with the company. If this commitment is not fulfilled, the relocation package must be repaid in full.

Work Environment

FACILITY IS IN ROSWELL, NM, US

Currently, the Waste Water Operator is working a schedule of 6 days on, 1 day off, and then 4 days on, 3 days off. With the addition of a third operator, the schedule might change. The work environment includes working around chemical fumes, in tight spaces, and with hazardous chemicals. Operators must also be prepared to work in varying temperatures and wear personal protective equipment as required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of ROSWELL, New Mexico.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54000.00 - $74800.00/yr.

Offer $10K relocation package (if out of the area)
