Mechanic - Trailer Repair Technician
Job Description
We are seeking skilled technicians with trailer repair experience to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for repairing semi-truck tankers and trailers, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and functionality.
Responsibilities
Repair semi-truck tankers and trailers.
Perform fabrication and welding tasks using GMAW, GTAW in aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
Conduct trailer electrical repairs and some engine repairs.
Handle hydraulics and pump repairs.
Inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat).
Diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical, or other systems on a trailer.
Perform tank service and repair.
Repair and maintain air brake systems.
Essential Skills
Experience in semi-trailer and truck repair.
Proficiency in fabrication and welding (TIG and MIG).
Knowledge of trailer electrical systems.
Ability to perform some engine repairs.
Experience with hydraulics and pump repair.
Proficiency in mechanical repairs, including brakes, electrical, refrigeration, and lighting systems.
Knowledge of diesel engines and their repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to use various tools effectively.
Strong work ethic and team player.
Ability to diagnose failures and make necessary repairs.
Knowledge of air brake systems.
Ability to grow and learn within the company.

Work Environment
The work environment is an indoor facility with large garage bays. It is not climate-controlled and operates as a repair shop. Basic tools required include hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, a multimeter, measuring tape, torpedo level, a small square or tri-square, a drill, an impact gun, and a weld helmet. A rolling tool cart or box is also needed.
