Aerotek TPM Technician in Phoenix, Arizona

Description:

Assists and support the development implementation of TPM and LEAN manufacturing practices, preventative maintenance packages, work instructions, job safety analysis, standard operating procedures, operator safety checks, equipment documentation and LOTO procedures. The candidate will be responsible for checking that their are correct and accurate SOP's at each machine and will physically place step by step sticker instructions on the machine/floor and surrounding areas to ensure the work area is safe and operation instructions are clear. They will also be responsible for general exterior machine cleanliness/appearance. If they see any major mess or dirt they are expected to clean it up.

Duties:

• Computer familiarity with Microsoft Office and other general programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Explorer, and Photo Suite programs, Web, SAP etc. and type 25 WPM. • Work with other sub-contractors to accomplish assigned projects and tasks. • Work with operator manuals, prints, procedures, and personnel in the search required information. • General hand tools usage • General-purpose maintenance tasks, painting, hanging wall objects, general cleanup, carpentry, plumbing, lighting, and floor care. • Maintain personal tools required for your job to include an up to date documented personal tool lists. Required tool listing to be supplied as part of employment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of some sort of industrial setting work. Can be a warehouse or production facility or a construction site.
  • Lockout / tag out - Required
  • Any procedure writing a big plus
  • Bonding and grounding - Any experience is a plus
  • IDEAL candidate is someone who has done machine maintenance or operation and wants to get out of an actual tech/operator role.
  • Experience or schooling in electronics, mechanical or in a technical field is a plus.
  • MUST have strong computer skills --- NO PECKING, needs to be able to type
  • Familiarity with JIT, LEAN, TPM, Six-S, and six-sigma philosophies and practices.
  • HSD or GED REQUIRED
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • ability to work in AC'ed and NON AC'ed environments
  • ability to walk and be on feet 90% of the day • Needs little supervision, is able to work in multiple trades alone, is adept at training others. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
