Responsibilities
As a Supervisor of IV Therapy, your role revolves around overseeing the administration of intravenous (IV) therapy within a healthcare setting. Under the direction of the Manager-Nursing Services and/or Director of Nursing this position coordinates and supervises patient care and employees; directs functioning of assigned units; acts as liaison with physicians patients families and staff.
Responsible for daily operational activities of assigned unit(s) including evaluations staff cost containment initiatives daily productivity regulatory compliance patient safety and satisfaction and quality.
Assists in planning, implementing and evaluating hospital unit objectives, standards and policies pertaining to activities of nursing personnel, materials/supplies, quality and patient experience.
Schedules personnel and reviews staff schedule to balance staffing.
Approves time off.
Supervises and assists staff with work assignments and ensures timeliness and quality of service. Assists in problem solving as part of the chain of command
Responds to staff needs and provides appropriate problem resolution interventions as well as assist with disciplinary action when necessary
Assists with employee hiring, training and ongoing evaluation functions.
Performs direct patient care as described in Staff Nurse job description on an as-needed basis.
Facilitates day-to-day operations of unit, managing patient throughput and staffing productivity
Flexes staff up and down to assist management of productivity and ensures staff/patient ratios
Assists manager with activities or initiatives related to staff, safety and patient experience.
Manages time and resources effectively.
Demonstrates total commitment to outstanding customer service.
Creates an environment where employees feel valued, respected, trusted and work in a safe setting.
Involved in personal leadership skill development as appropriate per their individual skill set.
Presents practice issues and needs to institutional leaders and governance committees as needed, and participates as indicated in community outreach and community organizations that align with the mission of the cancer institute.

Qualifications
Minimum:
3 years RN experience in Oncology.
2 years RN experience in Infusion Therapy.
Associates Degree in Nursing Program.
RN:AZ License
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification - Nat'l
Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification - Nat'l
OCN Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Bio-therapy Provider Card
Ability to develop effective working relationships with Physicians, Practice Managers, and a variety of health care professionals and other collaborators
Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
Able to successfully navigate a matrix organizational structure.
Preferred:
BSN preferred.
Project management and performance improvement process such as Lean Six Sigma training.
Pay Range
$40.66 - $58.96 /hour
