Job Description

Turner & Townsend is looking for an MEP Construction Project Manager to work with our team, and a global tech client onsite in Chandler, Arizona, and manage construction of base build projects for high-tech, manufacturing facilities. The role will be responsible for construction phase, commissioning and close out.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering background with strong mechanical or MEP knowledge and experience. To be successful in this role, you will be consultant minded and have experience with Owner’s Representation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project management commissions from a MEP perspective, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery.

  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.

  • Financial management – Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilizing Financial system in order to monitor a project’s financial status.

  • Project planning, including producing the detailed project plan.

  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques.

  • Managing the change control process.

  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.

  • Preparing formal project budget progress and other reports.

  • Quality Control – Ensuring compliance with quality standards.

  • Working to construct proposals for new work or variations for existing projects.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve Project Management procedures, templates and products referring ideas to the appropriate line manager.

  • Identifying and ensuring that the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues.

  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout project.

Qualifications

  • Construction project management experience and the ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.

  • Bachelor or Postgraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.

  • Project Management (or PMP), Engineering or a related field.

  • Understanding of MEP systems, and experience managing MEP construction projects.

  • Experience working on high-tech, mission-critical and/or manufacturing projects.

  • Proven track record of delivering high quality project management services across the full project lifecycle.

  • Ability to advise at a strategic level during the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client’s overall objectives.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure appropriate communications and coordination across project delivery team, stakeholders, and vendors.

  • Great time management skills. Ensure that project is managed to the right quality standards, completed efficiently and on time.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.
