ARAMARK Senior Construction Project Manager in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description

Senior Construction Project Manager (SrCPM), is the project manager for various construction projects with the Destinations team. The SrCPM is responsible for overall success and management of assigned projects by the Destinations Director. It is this individual?s responsibility to manage assigned projects ensuring the requisite levels of support from various internal and external technical support groups are scheduled and utilized in the support of the Destinations portfolio including National & State Parks, Conference Centers, and private real estate holdings. Technical Support includes architects, engineers, general contractors, sub-contractors, internal purchasing, IT, operations, and legal departments.

The SrCPM also acts as a liaison to client representatives for Aramark and is responsible to collaborate with senior members of various public lands and private corporate accounts and internal Aramark personnel to develop and implement project process and procedures particular to requirements at each project location. This position values diversity by working effectively with people from different viewpoints and backgrounds.

This SrCPM will be home based and travel to projects throughout the geographic United States. Most projects are located in remote national and state park service geographic locations. The preferred candidate will be based in the Western US and should live near a major airport. The role includes overall accountability to meet and exceed contractual obligations for projects as outlined within Aramark Destinations portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

1) Manage all aspects of project compliance from as outlined within Aramark destinations operating agreements. Compliance obligations include, project initiation, varying degrees of approvals, contractual and legal, and reporting procedures.

2) Preparation of comprehensive project budgets

3) Extensive knowledge of project financial monitoring/tracking/reporting

4) Acts as liaison with contracted architectural/engineering companies to ensure plan is being adhered to and needs met.

5) Supervises selection of planners, architects, contractors and other professionals.

6) Provides direction to consultants engaged in project planning; develops and maintains National Park Service, Public Lands, Private Corporate, and Aramark internal project SOP for planning, approvals, and execution; reviews and updates to ensure standards meet expectations.

7) In collaboration with Operation?s personnel, makes regular observations regarding the condition of facilities and infrastructure; recommends work orders and/or initiates improvement projects to ensure that buildings and capital assets remain in a state of good repair.

8) Professional contract administrator for architects, engineers, historic conservation, sustainability, energy, and various consultants

9) Ensure effective communication and coordination among the internal and external participants and stakeholders.

10) Coordinate project activities with National Park Service, State Park Service, and Client and operational departments such as various park service entities, State Historic Preservation Offices (SHIPO), facilities maintenance, public safety, IT, regulatory affairs, events, and administrators to ensure all parties are well-informed and that work proceeds on schedule with minimal impact.

11) Construction oversight responsibilities.

12) Monitor work for compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, best practices, Aramark standards, and operational contract requirements.

13) Expected to have a broad range technical engineering knowledge and awareness of details in order to be able to recognize when problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.

14) Works with the Director and site operations teams to ensure smooth transitions for projects from initiation to operational turnover.

15) Coordination of project close-out activities

16) Maintains archival system including cataloging, scanning of documents into electronic format and checkout system.

17) Manages and keeps up-to-date various building drawings and utility maps.

18) Develops and maintains department administrative procedures and reports. Research, prepare, and present reports and presentations as requested.

19) Assists the leadership team of an institution as needed to prepare materials and conduct professional architectural presentations for various senior level meetings and board presentations.

20) Support Aramark Destinations teams in new sales and retention efforts related to capital projects, facilities management, and information related to construction projects.

Qualifications

Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and expertise in working with diverse groups of individuals and building partnerships.

Ability to assess/allocate personnel staffing needs across a variety of project types and remote geographic locations.

Ability to establish priority needs in order to provide a high level of service to multiple clients at multiple locations.

Must be an effective communicator, both written and oral, capable of addressing large audiences including government officials; internal and external senior leadership, facilities and operational staff; professional constituents and the general public.

Exceptional judgment, integrity and discretion, and demonstrated ability to manage staff, think strategically, and delivery tactically.

Prefer individual to be located near a major airport in the Western U.S. At least 70% travel requirement to remote destinations. Valid driver?s license required.

Significant experience with varying degrees of project scopes from minor renovations to ground up new construction.

Project experience associated with Historic Preservation preferred, but not required.

Experience managing multiple projects in various geographic regions.

Minimum of 7 to 10 years of demonstrated increased responsibility in providing leadership in comprehensive capital project planning and execution.

Complex project planning and scenario development experience

Formal education in architecture, planning, engineering, or construction-related program is highly desirable.
