Job Title: Accountant

Job Description

The Accountant will be responsible for using the Deltek Costpoint accounting system for billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, cash management, monthly closing, and financial reporting. The role includes managing Costpoint configuration and organizational setup, performing all aspects of accounting processes, reviewing and maintaining project reports, documenting processes and procedures, maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts, providing support and troubleshooting Costpoint-related issues, assisting with audits, calculating indirect rates, cost pools and allocations, performing monthly close activities, and assisting and training other staff members on Costpoint processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Costpoint configuration and organizational setup

  • Perform all aspects of accounting processes as required

  • Review and maintain project reports

  • Document processes, procedures, and instruction documents

  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts

  • Provide support, troubleshooting, and resolve Costpoint related issues

  • Assist with audits

  • Calculate indirect rates, cost pools, and allocations in Costpoint

  • Perform monthly close activities including GL reconciliation, journal entries, financial statements, processing revenue

  • Assist and train other members of the staff on Costpoint processes

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance

  • Minimum of 2 years experience using Deltek Costpoint Accounting System

  • Knowledge of indirect rates, rate pools, and allocations

  • Experience with Time & Materials, Firm Fixed Price, and Cost-Reimbursable Government contracts

  • Intermediate level Excel skills

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy

  • Knowledge of CAS and DCAA guidelines and audits

  • Experience in preparing ledgers, financial reports, budgetary reports and financial forecasting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Minimum of 3 years in an accounting/business role with the Federal Government Contractor or Consultant

  • Familiarity with DoD, government contracting, policies, standards and procedures

  • Continuous engagement to understand current and future tool capabilities relative to business needs

  • Foundational understanding of Program Management processes and costing

  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00
