U-Haul Retirement Transition Specialist in Phoenix, Arizona

U-Haul International is seeking a goal-oriented individual to join an enthusiastic, high-energy, problem-solving team in assisting our internal team members as they transition to retirement. Candidate will provide guidance and educational resources for: Medicare, Social Security, and company-sponsored benefits as they plan for retirement. As the Retirement Transition Specialist, the ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of progressive experience as a Human Resources Specialist and would be capable of learning the specifics of Medicare and Social Security services. Communication and collaboration are key attributes as the Specialist would be engaged with team members, collaborate with other departments (i.e. HR, Compensation, Benefits, etc.) and external third parties. Candidate should have a passion for educating a diverse team member population about their retirement tools and benefits. This Specialist position is based in the Retirement Benefits/Financial Wellness Department of U-Haul International.

Candidates will be expected to work in the office Monday through Friday during regular business hours, at the Headquarters in Phoenix Arizona.

Job responsibilities:

  • Effectively and accurately administer the retiree health reimbursement benefit and life policies.

  • Provide in-depth guidance on Medicare and Social Security benefits.

  • Handle inbound/outbound calls and e-mails.

  • Produce and present webinars, educational courses, video presentations and other benefit marketing materials.

  • Conduct in-person presentations and provide one-on-one, private personalized coaching to those planning retirement.

  • Maintain knowledge of company benefits, including Medical, Financial Wellness, 401(k) and ESOP, and understand how these benefits coordinate with Medicare and Social Security.

  • Perform cross functional tasks in a highly dynamic environment.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other team members and departments.

  • Perform both complex and routine administrative work in a timely manner.

  • Maintain high accuracy on recordkeeping and organization.

  • Offer ideas to continually improve the Retirement Lifestyle Planning Program.

  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality and integrity.

  • Provide backup support to other Financial Wellness programs.

  • Other related tasks that may be assigned.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or 3-5 years of experience in HR/insurance related industry.
