Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Design and engineer the development of clinical Ultrasound imaging scanner probes/transducers. Executed programs to deliver improved product reliability, safety, diagnostical performance, and usability to the end clients. Drive technology activities relating to delivering cost-reduction and margin enhancements. Provide engineering expertise when examining and troubleshooting design or manufacturing defects and driving resolutions impacting fulfillment to customers. Identify opportunities to leverage technology initiatives, standardization, and sourcing simplification in the Ultrasound Probes product line. Partner with manufacturing engineers to drive supply chain efficiencies and lean manufacturing techniques to improve product quality for customers. Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance to manufacturing and service team members on possible hold dispositions for specific product issues.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree. Six (6) years of experience in Product design and development, project management, or a combination thereof. Work experience to include: Three (3) years of experience in product design and development of medical ultrasound transducers including hands on experience investigating product defects in a lab environment; Three (3) years of experience using reliability engineering problem solving methods such as Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTE), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), or Design of Experiments (DOE); Three (3) years of experience using statistical methods for reliability engineering such as Weibull Analysis, Acceptance Sampling, or Accelerated Life Testing; One (1) year of experience in project management of new products development, design transfer to manufacturing, or product quality improvement; and One (1) year of experience collaborating within a globally distributed team. Any and all experience may be gained concurrently. 100% remote position reporting to GE Parallel Design Inc. headquarters in Phoenix, AZ. Candidate may live anywhere in the continental U.S.
