Farnsworth Group is seeking an Industrial/Semiconductor/Advanced Manufacturing Electrical Controls Engineer. This is a role that can be based out one of the following offices: Austin, TX, Frisco, TX, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, or St. Louis, MO. In this role, you will assume multi-project responsibilities for electrical and control system design including cleanroom design and process utility systems. Projects will be in advanced manufacturing and technology markets.

Job Activities:

  • Prepare complete and accurate Electrical and Control System construction drawings and specifications

  • Prepare preliminary schematics, calculations, equipment selection and equipment layouts

  • Develop detailed control system schematics and loop diagrams

  • Develop control system architecture and network drawings

  • Develop hardware specifications

  • Collaborate with process and mechanical engineers to develop PFDs and P&IDs

  • Manage project design budgets, work breakdown structures, schedules and execution plans, focused on unimpeachable quality

  • Actively engage in and assume responsibility for code research and application

  • Interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors to deliver automation and control system solutions

  • Develop and document functional control descriptions based on control requirements

  • Coordinate with and lead other production staff to deliver construction documents and deliverables

  • Ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute responsibilities for multiple projects

Specific Requirements include:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Process, or Architectural Engineering

  • Licenses/Registrations: Professional Engineer License (PE) strongly preferred

  • 8 + years of relative Electrical and Control System Design experience, including schematics, control panel layouts, and power distribution

  • Ability to work independently and lead others

  • Experience in Advanced Manufacturing, Semiconductor, Clean Room, Water Treatment, or Life Sciences and general manufacturing a plus

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in designing automation solutions with PLC and DCS platforms

  • Application knowledge of electrical, building, and energy codes is desired

  • Application knowledge of controller programming languages and HMI configuration desired

  • Strong verbal and writing skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

  • Strong background with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and REVIT

  • Ability to travel
