Intermountain Health Fitness for Duty Screening Coordinator in Phoenix, Arizona
Job Description:
The Fitness for Duty Screening Coordinator is responsible for working leaders who have an employee at work who is potentially impaired by drugs, alcohol or otherwise impaired. The screening coordinator will work with vendor(s) to arrange for test collection, prepare and follow up with any necessary documentation, and will assist the leader in arranging for safe transport of the impacted employee.
This position has a very specific schedule and on call requirements:
• During each 14-day pay period, the individual will be on-call 24/7 for a 7 day period, followed by a 7 day period off of work.
• The “On-Call” period runs from Friday at 8:00 a.m. to the following Friday at 8:00 a.m.
• During the time that an individual is on-call, they must be able to respond to a call within 15 minutes.

Essential Functions
The Fitness for Duty Screening Coordinator works in a rotating on-call schedule and is responsible for overseeing the fit for duty screening process. The Fitness for Duty Screening Coordinator is responsible for:
Conducting and managing initial intake calls from leaders regarding employee fitness for duty concerns, gathering essential information and determining the appropriate course of action
Reviewing applicable state, local or other laws, policies or procedures related to drug or alcohol screening
Arranging timely on-site sample collection with vendor(s)
Coordinating with leaders to arrange safe transportation of the impacted employee
Accurately recording and maintaining detailed case documentation of all fitness for duty screenings including following up with the leader to complete employee suspensions, corrective actions, and/or terminations if applicable
Ensures strict confidentiality of all sensitive information related to fitness for duty screenings, including employee data and case details in compliance with legal and organizational privacy standards

Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in a Human Resources, healthcare or other customer service role requiring independent problem-solving.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer and enterprise software including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and calendaring.
Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated skills in skills in collaboration, diplomacy, and discretion.

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
Frequent interactions with managers, leaders, vendors, and caregivers that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$21.98 - $33.48
