Mercury Systems Director Quality Engineering in Phoenix, Arizona

In this role, you have the opportunity to The Director of Quality is primarily responsible for development & deployment of a comprehensive and world class quality management system strategy, oversight system, KPIs and governance at the Phoenix Campus. Deployment of uniform policies, standards and best practices that enable continued improvement in product, process and regulatory compliance systems focused on growth and customer experience as a key objective. You are responsible for • Develop, deploy and coordinate the quality management system, KPIs, and oversight/governance • Coordinate and integrate strategic direction for the quality organization in line with the company strategy • Owns quality budget/process in support of strategy execution • Drive and coordinate quality competitive analysis, customer needs, industry benchmarking and action plans • Develop & deploy early warning systems, improvement plans & containment plans for "RED"/problem spots/sites • Lead & drive projects across the organization that improve customer and factory quality performance (product/process/test yields) • Work closely with the IT to integrate standard QDS implementation to improve, simplify & automate processes • Utilize benchmarking efforts to lead development of "Best-in-Class" quality practices • Work with other functions and collaborate with BUs jointly deploy improvement programs • Continually work to improve site ability to effectively increase RTY/FPY, reduce customer escapes and COPQ • Generate, monitor and report site/entity quality metrics to internal/external customers as needed • Coordinate staffing, talent management, learning/development, and performance mgmt. for the quality organization • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory agency, government, engineering & company policies/procedures • Integrate quality improvement processes/projects into the Mercury Systems Lean Operating System • Effectively represent the company at customer, regulatory agency, and internal management meetings • Assure all product/process quality issues are resolved through application of the RCCA/CAPA/8D process • Establish and execute quality improvement plans for systemic product and process defects • Manage internal production non-conforming product control and disposition policy & process standards across the company • Respond to customer/contract flow down, quality initiatives, product problem resolution • Provide quality support for new product introduction (NPI), production readiness, and product support • Collaborate with global sourcing in supplier quality strategies and processes. Provide on-going support to supplier containment and development initiatives To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience • Quality, Six Sigma Manufacturing, sourcing, quality/Six Sigma, lean manufacturing knowledge and experience • Superior data management & IT tool system knowledge including PC application SW and data warehouse system • Excellent communication & presentation skills (verbal and written) • Demonstrated ability to create/execute a vision, and ability to work within larger organizational objectives • Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate the implementation of significant changes in a large organization • Ability to build consensus across multiple organizations and all levels of the enterprise • Ability to simplify and clarify complex and ambiguous problems • Financial/business acumen. Prior knowledge of SOP and budget processes • Six Sigma/Lean tools knowledge with several cycles of learning • Strong Program/project Management skills • Strong customer mgmt & communication skills • Broad supply chain and quality functional expertise • Proven ability to influence and provide multi-functional leadership across multiple sites and various businesses • Track record of driving solutions to assigned tasks utilizing a proactive approach to problem solving Experience/Education Required: · 10 years of directly related leadership experience in quality with increasingly growing responsibility • 5 years of experience in operations/supply chain or manufacturing • 5 years of experience in Quality related engineering, including program and or product management • Demonstrated experience in global multi site/multi business operations • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain mgmt or equivalent technical field * Experience in design/development/mfg of Aerospace mechanical/electrical components/systems • Knowledge of Aerospace Quality Assurance standards, practices and systems • Demonstrated experience with implementing ISO & AS certification standards Preferred • MBA with supply chain/manufacturing/industrial engineering concentration a plus • Six Sigma/lean certification required.
