Crane Technician

Job Description

As a Crane Technician, you will be responsible for servicing smaller overhead cranes, conducting preventive maintenance, and performing critical repairs on over 100 ceiling-mounted cranes. This role involves both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting using hand tools, battery-operated power tools, drills, voltmeters, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on over 100 overhead cranes in the facility.

  • Conduct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting using the process of elimination and technical experience.

  • Replace and work with 3-phase motors and electrical components.

  • Utilize hand tools, battery-operated power tools, drills, and voltmeters for various tasks.

  • Inspect cranes to meet OSHA/ANSI criteria.

  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits, PLCs, and VFDs.

  • Complete all necessary repairs and preventive maintenance on-site.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in overhead crane maintenance and inspection.

  • Ability to work with 3-phase motors and electrical components.

  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and voltmeters.

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits, PLCs, and VFDs.

  • Must provide own hand and power tools (specialty tools will be provided).

  • Experience working with low voltage electrical systems.

  • Capability to inspect equipment according to OSHA/ANSI criteria.
