The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital & Data Technology Team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.
Job Description:
We are looking for a back-end engineer with a commitment to producing high quality software and systems in support of ML model development life-cycle processes. As part of the machine learning platform team at American Express, you would be creating software and systems in support of the following activities:
Performing data processing in preparation for modeling tasks.
Performing model training.
Performing model interpretability tasks.
Batch and real-time model inference.
Monitoring model performance.
Responsibilities:
You will be part of the Machine Learning platform team to design, code, train, test, deploy, and iterate on large scale machine learning systems
More than 70% of the time spent on coding and/or hands-on technical implementation of re-usable frameworks to drive adoption of Machine Learning in Amex
Help data scientists train and interpret their models using significant compute at scale”
Works with large data sets to build products and tools that enhance colleague and customer experiences
You will work with Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science practitioners to strive for greater functionality in technology ecosystem
You will help craft the direction of machine learning and artificial intelligence at Amex
Required Qualifications:
Have a solid foundation of computer science fundamentals.
Proficiency in Python language and ecosystem.
Automated testing experience – unit and performance testing.
Enjoy digging into distributed system details – particularly Dask and Spark.
Comfortable with Git and automated CI/CD tools.
Don’t mind putting on your product that when requirements refinement is needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Containers (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
Machine learning.
Accelerated compute.
One of the system languages (C/C , Rust)
Public cloud platforms especially Google cloud
Qualifications
Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits
