Consider joining our dynamic team at Phoenix Job Corps Center as an Apprenticeship Advisor. We are looking for an Apprenticeship Coordinator that will be responsible for the management and supervision Advanced College Training program and all advanced training programs. This individual will make enrollment determinations based on adherence to DOL policy and individual judgment about applicants suitability and eligibility, and provide students with counseling related to higher education and advanced training, ensuring students make progress and advance in the program. This role serves as main liaison between local colleges and universities and ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.

The Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the various trades throughout the US including: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

Position Duties Include:

  • Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.

  • Ensures Center maintains full enrollment of the Advanced College Training program and all advanced training programs.

  • Responsible to provide students with comprehensive and individualized case management ensuring student progress, retention and completion of the ACT program and all advanced training programs. Establishes supportive/mentoring relationships with students throughout their enrollment and provides personal and career counseling.

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with community and business partners resulting in student benefit and success.

  • Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.

  • Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.

  • Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.

  • Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities. Proactively maintains the skills required to perform job duties.

  • Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.

  • Provides quality case management and career counseling services for all non-residential students.

  • Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift and appropriate action and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.

  • Responsible for the marketing and recruitment of all advanced training programs. This includes establishing positive connections with staff at other Job Corps centers and conducting presentations for students as well as employers in the community.

  • Provides quality programs and services for students and ensures that quality is maintained and student needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of programs and services.

  • Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Provides quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.

  • Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluates appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and that problems are in fact corrected.

  • Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.

  • Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited school required.

  • Prefer Job Corps or related program experience.
