Reference #: 9308629 OSLE Office of StudentLife and Engagement (OSLE) Ambassador Position POSITION INFORMATION Office Overview: The Office of StudentLife and Engagement strives to create a positive experience for the students of Jefferson through providing a variety of programs and services throughout the year. Our main areas of responsibility include working with studentactivities, studentorganizations, orientations, and leadership development. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to add to our team. Position Title: Office of StudentLife and Engagement (OSLE) Student Ambassador Position Type: This is a temporary part-time position at the Center City campus that is open to Jefferson students. The position is available to start beginning in October 2024 with employment continuing through the next academic year; interested applicants should be willing and able to work through the upcoming summer. The hourly pay rate for the OSLE Student Ambassador role (non-Federal Work Study) is set at $10.67 and is non-negotiable. The hourly pay rate for the OSLE Student Ambassador role (Federal Work Study) is set at $9.50 and is non-negotiable. Our standard office hours are Monday ndash; Friday (8:30am-5:00pm) and any standard work shifts would fall within those days and times (we are not open on weekends). We are looking for individuals that can work approximately 10-12 hours per week during the academic year; a higher number of weekly hours will likely be available for the summer.
Position Overview: The individual in this position assists OSLE with the planning, preparation, and implementation of studentactivities and programs, leadership development programs, university orientation, studentorganization administration, and with other office projects. Applicants must be willing to work with any of these areas.
Responsibilities may include: Assisting with studentactivities programming throughout the year through: working an assigned role at our events; assisting in the preparation of programs by assembling event supplies and giveaway items; researching information on programs or giveaways; preparing communications to students; and collecting and recording data. Assisting with University Orientation and HIPAA and Safety Training pre-matriculation requirements for incoming students through: engaging in communications with students; recording completion of requirements; reviewing presentation content; and assembling materials. Assisting with studentorganization support through: engaging in communications with studentorganizations and leaders; reviewing requests; facilitating purchases; and reviewing and creating financial reports. Assisting with studentleadership development programming through: working an assigned role at a session; engaging in communications; entering data and preparing reports. Engaging in office work including providing desk coverage, answering phones, making copies, preparing materials, and entering information into the computer using Microsoft Word and Excel. Serving as an active member of our office by representing the office at other University events, helping to promote events, being a resource for students, and participating in OSLE Team meetings. Engaging in other activities that support the Office of StudentLife and Engagement and contribute to its mission.
