Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is seeking a Ship Control System Government (SCS-Gov) engineer to support U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) programs. You will provide engineering and technical assistance support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Ship Control System Government (SCS-Gov) Engineer is a full time position, and will consist of a combination of remote work, and onsite work at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The position will facilitate testing and troubleshooting of ship steering equipment/SCS-GOV and leading technical refreshes of existing systems.

• Complete Shipboard Operability Verification Tests for steering systems

• Assess proper integration with steering peripheral equipment such as Hydraulic Power Units, and Machinery Control Systems

• Travel to fleet concentration areas to facilitate technical installations, training, and or repairs. Up to 25%

• Facilitate crew upgrade training as it pertains to new system installation and operation

• Provide subject matter expertise at status meetings

• Complete assigned tasking with minimal to no supervision

• Develop, derive, troubleshoot and refine system and software requirements for future fielded systems (PLC based control systems) both at LBES and shipboard

• Provide test support at LBES and shipboard SW & HW installation support at LBES

• Provide feedback and lessons learned for test plans and technical documentation

• This position requires an onsite workload at LBES for at least 75% of the time and the rest of the time you can work from home

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field and 5 (5) years minimum technical experience in architecting and designing electrical to mechanical systems or a minimum of nine years of related experience such as active military service as an ET or ETV. Additional electronics / electrical related experience may also be considered.

Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a secret clearance required.

Must be willing and able to travel up to 25%, domestic and international (passport required).

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated with industrial control systems

• Proficiency in the use of software-based and diagnostic test tools associated with industrial control systems

• Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, or other PLC systems

• Proficient in basic computer/laptop use including advanced operations

• Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting tools

• Proficient technical writing ability and editing electrical diagrams

• Self-motivated and ability to complete tasks efficiently

• Ability to communicate effectively within an integrated team environment

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

USD $99,100.00 - USD $154,825.00 /Yr.
