Robert Half Senior Grants & Contracts Accountant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Description

Robert Half has an opening for an experienced, driven Senior Grants & Contracts Accountant to provide leadership and know-how to a growing team. The Senior Grants & Contracts Accountant will provide professional accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and research administrative support for a diverse and complex grant and contract portfolio with a focus on compliance and customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for financial and post-award administration during the proposal development phase.

  • Ensure the development of accurate and compliant budgets, including indirect cost recovery.

  • Establish and maintain awards and budget records for designated funds within administrative systems.

  • Supervise and authorize all personnel, payroll, and procurement commitments and expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Monitor post-award activities for assigned portfolios to guarantee allowability, allocability, and uniform treatment.

  • Generate financial statements, invoices, budget projections, award closeouts, and other administrative reports after the award.

  • Aid in the collection of accounts receivable and report on potentially uncollectible accounts.

  • Act as a resource for the financial and post-award administration of designated funds.

  • Help with the preparation, oversight, and reporting requirements for assigned subawards.

  • Interpret and enforce relevant sponsor and institutional guidelines/policies for optimal grant management practices.

  • Support the year-end closing process and respond to audit inquiries.

    Requirements

The ideal Senior Grants & Contracts Accountant candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA / MBA preferred.

Other requirements for the Senior Grants & Contracts Accountant position include and are not limited to:

  • 5+ years relevant work experience in accounting or financial field

  • 3+ years experience with NIH or Federal Agencies and post-award administration

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork, initiative, and integrity

  • High attention to detail; ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
