Summary:

  • The Senior Business Consultant is a member of the internal consulting group that works with the hospital executive team. The Senior Business Consultant has expertise in several industry-wide methodologies (lean, six sigma, project management) to improve processes and implement strategic initiatives. The Senior Business Consultant is responsible for defining the scope on large, cross functional projects. They are also responsible for identifying areas for improvement, leading the project, and ensures task completion and issue resolution. The business consultant is an agent of change and must also be capable of forming relationships quickly at all levels in the organization, be able to adapt to changing priorities, demonstrate executive presence, possess effective interpersonal skills, be able to establish good working relationships, be able to foster cooperation in others, and be a creative problem-solver. The Senior business consultant must be able to deliver executive level presentations, effectively delegate work, hold others accountable for deliverables, and effectively communicate with key project stakeholders of project status and issues. The Senior Business Consultant must provide mentorship to others on the team and within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads business consulting projects and large strategic initiatives at the request of hospital leadershipImplement project or strategic initiative with executive leader and project championDefines project scope, goals, project and change management planCommunicates project status and potential risks with key stakeholdersRoutinely identifies areas of opportunity for the department to provide expertise and works with management to move forwardMentors other team members on Six Sigma and Project ManagementFacilitates crucial conversations with cross functional project teams to provide a cooperative environment of open communication and mutual respect among all team membersPrepares and delivers executive level presentationsAn active educator of process improvement training by either providing classroom instruction or student mentorship/feedback

Credentials:

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (Required)

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)

  • Education Specialization:Healthcare, Business, Process EngineeringEquivalent Experience:•And 7+ years Health care or business experience

  • Master of Arts or Science

  • Education Specialization:Healthcare, Business, Process EngineeringEquivalent Experience:•Prior experience managing complex ongoing projects•Prior experience working with health care leaders and/or in an academic Medical organization
