A Brief Overview

Assume responsibility for an on-going, innovative research project as a Postdoctoral Fellow at CHOP. Our postdoc experience will broaden your skillset, scientific background, and research capabilities.

A Postdoctoral Fellow is needed to join a dynamic group of investigators interested in studying the functional consequences of signals that have come out of recent genome wide association studies (GWAS), with specific focus on musculoskeletal, addiction, obesity/diabetes and sleep traits. The successful candidate will be dedicated and motivated, and a driver of her/his research. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible of setting up disease models in human cell lines and iPSC-derived cells, characterize their trait-related phenotypes and manipulate candidate gene expression using CRISPR/Cas9 and/or siRNA or gene overexpression, with the goal of validating novel disease target genes. We are looking for a candidate with strong molecular biology skills and prior experience in either endocrine/neuronal cellular models or iPSC-derived cell biology. Experience in CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and next-generation sequencing based techniques (such as RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq) is essential.
