University of Pennsylvania Research Assistant Professor - X-Ray Imaging in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of cone-beam CT, fluoroscopy, image reconstruction, and physical experimentation on benchtop and clinical systems are desired. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, physics, computer science, or equivalent disciplines. Experience in other imaging modalities such as tomosynthesis or CT would be an advantage. Experience in grant writing would be an asset.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include development of novel imaging technologies in interventional applications through advanced data acquisition and reconstruction, trajectory design and implementation on robotic C-arms, motion compensated reconstructions, deep learning algorithm development, image quality assessment and optimization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of graduate students and postdocs as well as grant writing and management. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with faculty in the Department of Radiology to develop and implement new radiographic and tomographic imaging methods.
