Position Purpose:
The Recreation Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for participants by planning, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic recreational activities. This position is dedicated to creating engaging experiences that align with each participant's care plan, ensuring a supportive and enriching environment.
What You Will Do:
Develop and implement individualized and group activities for cognitive, physical, and social engagement.
Foster a collaborative atmosphere, working closely with participants, families, and staff.
Maintain an organized calendar of events and manage recreational supplies.
Attend mandatory training and assist in providing education to staff.
Promote socialization and lifelong learning among participants.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent; one year of experience working with elderly or frail populations preferred.
Knowledge in geriatrics or dementia care is an asset.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Must be action-oriented, adaptable, and possess strong problem-solving abilities.
Employee Medical Statement from an MD, NP, or PA required prior to employment.
