job summary:

Our client is a premiere, residential and commercial property management company based in Philadelphia!

They are seeking to fill a property accountant role to support the rapid growth they have been experiencing!

This role will begin onsite for an initial training period (around 90 days), and will have hybrid capability after that (1-2 days per week WFH)

responsibilities:

  • Oversee the examination and handling of Real Estate Tax bills for over 100 properties to guarantee prompt payment, record receipts, maintain tax files, and prepare related billbacks.

  • Create and evaluate monthly bank reconciliations (20+ accounts).

  • Develop and assess monthly schedules and relevant journal entries, including but not limited to prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, intercompany accounts, security deposits, etc.

  • Review and categorize invoices for the industrial property portfolio (100+ properties).

  • Execute monthly sales and franchise tax filings in required states and possess the ability to interpret tax laws in new regions as the portfolio grows.

  • Support the monthly tracking of CapEx projects by collaborating with the development team and updating budget tracking schedules.

  • Prepare annual common area expense reconciliations for tenants, along with real estate tax and insurance adjustments.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for investors in a dynamic multi-entity setting.

  • Contribute to annual audit and tax return preparation.

  • Address inquiries and/or undertake special projects as assigned.

qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Accounting from a four-year college or university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required.

  • 2 to 4 years of prior accounting experience.

  • CPA designation or progress towards CPA preferred.
