Summary:
- The Neuropsychology Clinical Trainee Position is designed to provide supervised experience at the post-doctoral level with the standardized assessment of cognitive function in relation to specific neurological disorders and diseases. The trainee will be provided the necessary supervised experience require for both licensure and ABPP board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology. Trainee is primarily focused on providing out-patient clinical services (at PCAM and PAH) for patients with diagnosed neurological disorders such as epilepsy, stroke, MS, brain tumor, and movement disorders. This supervised clinical experience includes training in the performance of intracarotid amatol testing and intraoperative language mapping.
Responsibilities:
Assist with 3-4 comprehensive evaluations per week. The trainee reviews medical records prior to evaluations, assists with scheduling and making reminder calls to patients, interviews patients and family members, performs testing and scoring, interprets test results, assists with report writing, and providing feedback to patients and families.
Perform literature searches/reviews to update resources for specific neurological disorders and diseases.
Attend and present cases at both the weekly Huntington’s disease Clinic Conference at PAH and the weekly Surgical Epilepsy Conference at HUP.
Participate in clinical rotations at CHOP (six months) and other local hospitals/rehabilitation facilities
Observe several surgical procedures including DBS and epilepsy-related surgeries (ATL, laser ablation, RNS, etc.).
Attend and participate in the Department of Neurology Grand Rounds, Department of Psychiatry Grand Rounds, and bi-weekly Neuropsychology Seminars at CHOP.
Assist with the supervision of the neuropsychology students working with Physician and the students working with Physicians in the HD clinic.
